SERVES 2
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 (5 ounce) boneless pork chops
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
- 3 green onions, chopped or ¼ yellow or red onion
- 1 teaspoon dried Thyme, or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh Thyme (or choose from Thyme list below)
- Melt butter in heavy medium skillet over medium heat.
- Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper.
- Sauté pork until brown and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.
- Transfer pork to plate.
- Add wine to same skillet.
- Stir and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in cranberry sauce, onion and Thyme.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until slightly reduced, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes.
- Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
- Return pork and any juices to the skillet.
- Cook until heated through, about 1 minute.
- Serve with Cranberry - Thyme sauce, poured over the pork chops.
Thyme savory flavor:- Thyme - Compact English, Thyme - English, Thyme - Provence, Thyme - Tabor.
This recipe is very flavorful and doubles very easily.
A coffee grinder is great for finely chopping dried or fresh thyme leaves, but keep 'herb-coffee grinder' only for herbs. (Buy a separate coffee grinder just for coffee.)
